When we decided to launch a new range of wooden front doors, there were a few boxes that we needed to tick. The doors needed to:
Also, when you name a range the ‘Prestige Collection’, you need to be sure that the doors live up to their billing. Because, when you’re talking quality, it doesn’t get much better than Prestige as a label.
By opting for insulated wood, we’re confident that we’ve come up with the perfect complement to our Signature Collection. One that offers prestige benefits at an affordable price. In addition, this range comes with 0% interest free credit over a 12 month period.
If you decide that a Prestige wooden front door is the right door for your entrance, first of all, great choice. They look good, right? Secondly, beyond the aesthetics, here’s what you’re getting:
Each Prestige door is manufactured at the ERW workshop to meet the exact specifications of your entrance. Your door also comes factory finished, fitted with all hardware and ironmongery and delivered in an engineered redwood frame – the same frames used in our Signature range. This ensures a fuss-free installation with minimum disruption to your home.
Because the last thing you want is to spend a full day without a front door while installers try to make it fit correctly.
What does that mean?
It means your door is incredibly efficient at keeping warm air in your home, thus saving you money on heating bills. The lower the U-value, the more energy efficient the door is. It’s a requirement for all new doors to have a U-value of 1.8k (m2k) or less. Our insulated wooden doors far exceed that requirement.
We could have gone for 10 or even 20 colours to choose from. But then we’d risk not having the colour you want. And we wouldn’t want that to happen. With 150 colours, there’s a very good chance you’ll find the right one for your entrance.
Once you’ve chosen a colour, we apply it in our factory using a water-based micro-porous paint to deliver superb colour retention. This paint also allows for easy redecoration. So if you ever want to freshen up or change the colour of your door, you’ll only need one coat to do it.
Insulated wood is naturally secure by design. By adding TS007 1 Star Kitemarked Euro cylinder locks – accredited to BSEN 1303:2005 – to doors, we’ve created an impenetrable barrier against unwanted intrusion.
If those numbers don’t mean anything to you, just know that your door locks securely into the hinge and frame, at the top, middle and bottom.
A thermally efficient door is only beneficial if drafts around the door and frame are eliminated. Our energy-efficient seals are tested and approved to BS6375 Part 1 to keep heat in and cold out.
Each door is factory glazed to the highest standards using low emissivity glass, tested and approved to BS EN1279 Part 3. Low E glazing is designed to minimise the amount of infrared and ultraviolet light that comes through the glass, without compromising the amount of light that enters your home. It also has a coating that reflects heat to keep interior temperatures consistent.
If we’re offering a choice of colours, it’s only right that we offer a range of letterboxes, door knockers, handles, locks and catches for you to customise your door. All hardware and ironmongery are available in various finishes including gold, antique black, graphite and polished chrome.

Whilst not the cheapest quote, the presentation and professional approach persuaded me to use ERW. Standard of work and communication to let us know when the works will be conducted were excellent. Stain glass windows are perfect match and look excellent.

We are delighted with the product supplied. The leaded windows look really good and very much in character with the house and with the previous windows. The installation team have been very helpful and informative throughout and are a credit to your company. An excellent job and done exactly as per your contract program (which makes a nice change from some of the builders we have used in the past!). Thank you.
Mr & Mrs D, Stockton on Tees
Workmen cleaned up any mess as they went along and left no mess what so ever at the end. They were diligent and I would certainly recommend this company and I intend on using ERW again.
