This summer, we brought together our team, suppliers and partners for an afternoon and evening on the banks of the River Tees, taking the opportunity to celebrate another successful year and, most importantly, spend some time together away from the workshop, showroom and day-to-day business.
Our Summer BBQ at the River Tees Watersports Centre was a chance to say thank you to everyone who plays a part in ERW, from the craftspeople within our workshop and the teams working behind the scenes, to the trusted suppliers and partners we work alongside throughout the year.
ERW has been a family-run business since 1979, and while a great deal has changed over the decades, the importance we place on our people has remained constant.
This summer also marked another special milestone for the business, as Joe joined the ERW team, becoming the fourth generation of the family to be involved in the company.
For a business built on generations of craftsmanship, knowledge and experience, it’s something we’re incredibly proud of. Joe’s arrival represents both the continuation of ERW’s family heritage and an exciting new chapter for the business.
The quality of our work relies on experience, knowledge and attention to detail at every stage, from the initial design and selection of materials through to manufacture, finishing and installation.
That same principle extends to the relationships we have built with our suppliers and professional partners. Many of these relationships have developed over several years and are an important part of maintaining the standards our customers expect.
Bringing everyone together gave us an opportunity to recognise those contributions and celebrate what we have achieved collectively over the past year.
Of course, the evening wasn’t about work.
With the River Tees as the backdrop, the BBQ was simply an opportunity to enjoy good food, a few drinks and great company.
Days like these are an important part of life at ERW. With colleagues working across our workshop, showroom, offices and installation teams, there aren’t always many opportunities for everyone to be together in the same place.
Our summer gathering gave us exactly that!
Making a listed building more energy efficient can be challenging. Older properties were built using traditional materials and construction methods that are very different from modern homes, while original windows, doors and other features may be protected because of their historic importance. However, being a listed building doesn’t mean you have to accept draughts, heat […]
If your sash windows rattle when it is windy, you may be dealing with a relatively simple issue that can often be repaired. Loose components, worn sash cords, gaps around the frame or movement within the window can all create rattling noises. Older timber sash windows can develop these problems over time, particularly where components […]

The service you all provided was second to none, a great job well done!
Ms S, Beamish
Workmen cleaned up any mess as they went along and left no mess what so ever at the end. They were diligent and I would certainly recommend this company and I intend on using ERW again.

We were very happy with the quality of the workmanship, workforce were excellent, working non stop until job was finished. All were friendly and helpful too.
Mr & Mrs B, Middlesbrough
We were desperate to find a company that would do a quality job with quality products. Although we had very high quality windows fitted in part of the house, that company couldn’t fit them. We are so happy with every aspect of the work done by ERW from start to finish and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asked.
